This is a Study of The Heritage of

American Motors Corporation

Tens of thousands of people labored for decades, reaching down into the 19th Century, to bring us the magic today known to The Faithful simply as,

Rambler

The Latest:

Updates have been added to the August, September and October pages of the Rambler by The Month section. There is some interesting stuff in there, too, a little racing, a little make/model information, and some history on the company's heritage. That's what we're here for.

The AMC Heritage Forum continues to flourish, and I have now moved over half of the Lost Dealership Project message boards over here to the main site. Other sections of the forum have been transferred as well. We are nearing the "Grand Opening" time of The AMC Heritage Forum here on the main page, as we lock the old forum to use as a reference.

Over in the Parts Department, Automotive.com has decided to join us with some affiliate advertising, I'll be adding their link to the page by Monday.

There will be a blog post coming soon, I have found a few unusual and interesting tidbits of Rambler lore to share...

You Keep on Ramblin' and I'll keep on...

Hey there all, I restored my 1960 Rambler custom this summer, from paint and body to interior panels, carpet and what ever comes along next because it never stops. Im on my 2nd set of carpet. I love my car with its 196 cu in 6 cylinder, push button auto "flash-o-matic" and factory A/C!! 83K miles. It shares my garage with a 1955 Chevy 210 that has a stovebolt 6 cyl. and powerglide transmixer that has 15K on its odometer.

  • + : A leading plus sign indicates that this word must be present in every object returned.
  • - : A leading minus sign indicates that this word must not be present in any row returned.
  • By default (when neither plus nor minus is specified) the word is optional, but the object that contain it will be rated higher.
  • < > : These two operators are used to change a word's contribution to the relevance value that is assigned to a row.
  • ( ) : Parentheses are used to group words into subexpressions.
  • ~ : A leading tilde acts as a negation operator, causing the word's contribution to the object relevance to be negative. It's useful for marking noise words. An object that contains such a word will be rated lower than others, but will not be excluded altogether, as it would be with the - operator.
  • * : An asterisk is the truncation operator. Unlike the other operators, it should be appended to the word, not prepended.
  • " : The phrase, that is enclosed in double quotes ", matches only objects that contain this phrase literally, as it was typed.
