Buffalo Motor Car Co.(E.R. Thomas)

This is a two page article from a July Horseless Age magazine, and an August letter from a September issue, featuring the 1902 Buffalo Tonneau by the Buffalo Motor Car Corporation, which a year later became the E.R. Thomas Motor Company.

Hudson Motor Car Company

August, 1930, marked a fuel mileage record for Hudson, with a Hudson Great 8 Sedan reaching over 25 miles per gallon in a 480 mile New Zealand run.

In August of 1939, English Speed King John Cobb, holder of the World's Land Speed Record, drove a 1940 Hudson to a AAA Class C record of 93.9 mph.

According to the 1969 American Motors Family Album by John Conde, Hudson was one of the earliest manufacturers to resume production after World War Two, beginning production of 1946 models in August of 1945...

In August of 1953, Hudson began showing off a new idea, the Italia dream car. The rare and exotic Hudson Italia was based on the Hudson Jet small car chassis, and featured advanced design features such as flow-through ventilation and doors that were recessed 10 inches into the roof.

Though some Italias were produced in 1953, and there are cases of 1955 registrations, the car is essentially only a 1954 model, discontinued after some 26 units of production. Looming over this project was the merger of two companies on the edge of survival, and some programs had to be pared off.

These are some of the rarest and most desirable to collectors of all Hudsons today, commanding very high values in the collector auction arena...

Nash Motors Company

Nash ceased production of its exotic American/British hybrid sports car, the Nash-Healey, in August of 1954.
